Fat-tail Deconvolution MaximDL Plugin

This plugin for MaximDL performs Fat-tail Lucy-Richardson deconvolution on the selected image.

This is a plugin implementation of the Maxim script written by Robert Vanderbei

Full details of the deconvolution process is available on Robert's site here

NB. Before using the plugin (or original script) you must create a custom kernel filter, the process for which is described on Robert's web page and reproduced here:

To do this in MaximDL, set up "User Defined Kernel Filter 12" as follows...

Usage:

Once the number of iterations to be performed has been entered, click the OK button and the dialog box will be removed allowing you to click on a star in the image to be processed in order to specify the FWHM and click again on an empty background area to set the background standard deviation to be used.
Click the OK button then click on the center of the reference star and background area.
The plugin will then create several temporary working images as it performs the deconvolution, which will be closed upon completion leaving the deconvolved image in a new window.

Config options:

·         Iterations, star selection for FWHM/standard deviation

Version history:
v1.0 - Initial release.
v1.1 - Allow fwhm and sd to be set independently.
